Hip and Knee replacement, outpatient total joints, adult hip and knee reconstruction

Dr. Jon Edgington is a board certified and fellowship-trained joint replacement surgeon who specializes in treating patients with hip and knee arthritis. After establishing an accurate diagnosis, he exhausts all nonoperative treatments prior to considering surgical options. If nonoperative measure have failed, Dr. Edgington has a patient centered discussion regarding surgical options including advanced technologies, less invasive approaches, and rapid recovery pathways for the best possible patient outcome.

Dr. Edgington completed his undergraduate studies at Miami University majoring in microbiology while competing as a Division I student-athlete on the varsity baseball team. He went on to complete his medical degree at the University of Cincinnati where he decided on a career in orthopedic surgery. Throughout his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Chicago he developed an interest in total joint arthroplasty as well as caring for orthopedic trauma patients. He went on to complete a fellowship in adult reconstruction and joint replacement at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in downtown Chicago. There he learned specialized techniques in caring for patients with everything from primary osteoarthritis to those with failed surgeries or deformity requiring complex joint replacement surgery.

As a resident of Northwest Indiana, Dr. Edgington is proud to provide the high quality and contemporary orthopedic care from his training in downtown Chicago to the community of Northwest Indiana. He believes in putting his patients first, honest and clear patient communication, and caring for patients how he would like to be treated. Dr. Edgington enjoys spending time with his wife Katelyn and his three sons. His hobbies including golf, baseball, and watersports.
